I. DESCRIPTION
The Doctoral Thesis consists of an original and independent scientific investigation that constitutes, in the opinion of the Thesis Commission, a significant contribution to the discipline in the interface of engineering, biology and medicine. The thesis is a formal document whose purpose is to show the contribution made. Failure to show this contribution implies failing to defend the proposed thesis. In Doctoral Thesis III, the student will continue the reseach activites started in Doctoral Thesis I and II according to the work plan approved in the thesis project and considering the remarks and instructions given by the Thesis Comitee.
II. OBJECTIVES
. Continue the implementation of the working plan.
. Continue data processing to give answers to research questions.
. Reflect and discuss about the difficulties encountered in the ongoing investigation process.
. Suggest modifications to the process of investigation in course.
. Elaborate a report containing the most relevant aspects in which research progress has been made.
. Start writing a manuscript to be submitted to a ISI indexed scientific journal.
III. CONTENT
Defined by the student, under the supervision of his Thesis Director. They must be approved by the Thesis Committee, in the Annual Thesis Monitoring Activity I.
IV. METHODOLOGY
. Indivual supervision sessions with the Thesis Supervisor
. Individual work
V. EVALUATION
At the end of the semester, the student needs to write a final report containing the progress achieved during the semester. It is recommended that the student works on his report throughout the semester. The report is reviewed
and evaluated by the Thesis Supervisor (scale from 1.0 to 7.0).
