I.DESCRIPCIÓN DEL CURSO
Students will learn the general principles and exceptions that govern international trade, through debates, case law and class groups. Students will interact with trade lawyers at the forefront of current trade developments. Students will develop language, writing and negotiation skills, learn to apply statutes and understand banking and finance concepts, being graded based on participation for which an objective and written procedure "rubrica" will be available and through the application of concepts previously learned, for which oral debates will be held.
II.RESULTADOS DE APRENDIZAJE
1.Describe the importance of International Trade and the different International Organizations who participate in this area, through a close reading of the most significant judgments of the World Trade Organization ("WTO") Appellate Body and selected decisions of Panels
2.Analyze the historical context and the evolution of the WTO.
3.Identify the fundamental principal of global trade, and international relations, including topics such as non-discrimination (MFN and National Treatment); border measures (tariffs,and other measures such as quotas); dumping; and subsidies.
4.Analyze, through public debates, the political, social, and economic issues that have dominated the agenda, over the economy, with a specific focus on trade tensions affecting the East and the West

1.Introduction to International Trade and Economics and the role of the WTO.
1.1.WTO?s case for open trade.
1.2.Introduction to the WTO and the different aspects of the international organization.
2.Principles and Exceptions that govern Global Trade through the analysis of the General Agreement on Trade and Tariffs.
2.1.Most Favored Nation and Tariffs.
2.1.1.National Treatment.
2.1.2.Exception.
3.Economy and current Legal Global Issues.
